Document Scanning: BÖWE BELL + HOWELL Scanners Enhances Engineering, Accounting And Purchasing Support With Two Promotions, Five New Hires
BÖWE BELL + HOWELL Scanners continues to grow and expand with a series of promotions and new hires. The company manufactures and markets a full line of high-end, midrange and entry-level document scanners.
Roland Simonis, 48, has been promoted to vice president of technology and business development. In his new role, Simonis will manage new product development, scanner project portfolios and product roadmaps. He also will play a key role in shaping the company's business growth strategy and leading business development initiatives in new territories, including China.
In the past 20 years, Simonis has made several key contributions at BÖWE BELL + HOWELL Scanners. He has worked closely on the development of the company's flagship Spectrum Series of scanners, the Copiscan 8000 Series and the Copiscan II Series of scanners, as well as the imprinter, ACE image enhancement and SCSI controllers. Simonis holds a bachelor's degree in electronics automation from HEMES in Liége, Belgium.
Kirk Bonniwell, 30, has been promoted to director of finance. In this new position, Bonniwell will have key financial responsibilities for the manufacturing and supply chain operations at BÖWE BELL + HOWELL Scanners. He also will maintain his current responsibilities in the finance department of the scanner division.
Bonniwell previously held finance positions at KLA Tencor Corporation and PricewaterhouseCoopers. He is a certified public accountant and holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Iowa.
Patrick Treacy, 52, joins BÖWE BELL + HOWELL Scanners as a senior buyer. In his new role, Treacy will work closely with vendors on quality and pricing issues. He also will be responsible for purchasing efforts within the company's production department.
Treacy brings more than 25 years of purchasing experience to the company. He previously held managerial positions in purchasing at Soleil Systems and E.H. Wachs Co. Treacy holds an associate's degree in science from the College of Lake County in Grayslake, Ill.
Dimitry Fabrjé, 36, joins the company as a technical support engineer. In his new role, Fabrjé will be responsible for expert level technical support for BBH's workgroup and low-volume production class scanners, Sidekick and Tr'per.
Fabrjé brings to the company a wealth of experience, which includes product design and development, systems integration and support, and CAD application and PC hardware instruction. He holds a master's degree in business administration from Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Ill., and a bachelor's degree in industrial design from the University of Illinois in Chicago.
Brian Mitton, 43, joins the company as an advisory engineer for software. With more than 20 years of experience in software design and testing, Mitton will help maintain and develop several initiatives within BÖWE BELL + HOWELL's engineering group.
Mitton holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from Eastern Michigan University, in Ypsilanti, Mich.
Richard Multan, 52, joins BÖWE BELL + HOWELL as an electrical technician. Bringing more than 30 years of technical experience to the company, Multan will work with BÖWE BELL + HOWELL's engineering group to test new designs and technology. He holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and technology from the DeVry Institute of Technology in Chicago, Ill.
Terrence Ferreira, 21, joins BÖWE BELL + HOWELL as a scanner operator. In his new role, Ferreira will work primarily on projects that evaluate the performance of new and existing scanners as they operate in conjunction with other media.
