In February of 2003, DocuLex added the capabilities of electronic file and data capture for electronic discovery, with the acquisition of Advocate Solutions. Together the combined product offering delivers a studio of products that enable the user to Capture and index all types of paper and electronic files.

Today, DocuLex offers a complete solution for users that desire paper or electronic file capture and indexing, browser based file search and retrieval software, professional services for custom requests, plus product support and onsite training.

DocuLex offers a solution to users that desire a simple yet productive means of converting paper documents to searchable electronic files. The electronic files may be easily located by searching document-specific descriptions or a combination of key words contained in the document. DocuLex ensures the confidence required to retrieve the desired information, when it's needed.

PDF.Capture & Search comprise DocuLex's easy to use, one-price document imaging capability. PDF.Capture provides the document scanning, content indexing and electronic Portable Document File (PDF) formatting 'front-end' to DocuLex's software system, with Search providing document search, location and retrieval capability.

DocuLex Goby Capture
Goby Capture is designed to maximize the scanning feature of your digital copiers or network scanners, providing walk-up convenience for scanning, indexing, archiving and sharing valuable documents. Goby operates in conjunction with mixed brand MFP units currently on your network, plus any new additions.

Goby Capture consists of two separate running components, Goby Profiler and Goby Monitor. Goby Profiler enables the user to profile and catalog documents prior to scanning with custom index metadata and custom file name. A user may also choose to generate the profile sheet using available data from their existing software package. Once the scanned documents are recognized by Goby Monitor, the custom named Documents are saved as searchable files, organized then forwarded to the user's desktop, custom named folders, DocuLex's WebSearch or other content management programs.

DocuLex OCR for Lawyers
DocuLex OCR for Lawyers is an optical character recognition software product enabling those in the legal field to convert paper documents and TIFF files to a text-based format, for amending as needed with prominent business communications software (Microsoft Office, etc.). The program generates a formatted text document that preserves the layout format, character, font and style of the original.

DocuLex OCR for Lawyers features a customized legal dictionary comprising over 20,000 prominent legal terms, providing verification of terminology used in the OCR'ed documents.

DocuLex PDF.Capture for eCabinet
Now DocuLex offers its renowned document image capture software designed to expand the image capture capabilities of eCabinet, the document management appliance created by Ricoh Silicon Valley. With DocuLex's PDF.Capture for eCabinet, production scanners and multifunctional copiers/printers with scanning capability can now be used to convert paper documents to electronic PDF files and entered into eCabinet.

DocuLex's PDF.Capture for eCabinet will facilitate custom meta field information transferred directly to eCabinet indexing function, allowing documents to be organized to suit each user's document-specific descriptions for each application. With this, document images, index information and OCR text accompanies the document files onto eCabinet's storage drive, enabling easy search and retrieval of stored documents, as well as moving documents into custom eCabinet folders.
