DPM is a marking technology that permanently affixes a 2-dimensional DataMatrix code to a manufactured part or component. This technology is required for specified goods shipping to the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), to comply with the DoD's Unique Identification (UID) program initiatives established for contractors. Symbol Technologies, a worldwide leader in enterprise mobility, introduced the first wireless mobile computer designed to accurately read laser, peen marked, chemical etch and other types of direct part markings. As an authorized partner, Lowry can integrate Symbol's DPM mobile computers and readers into its solution set designed for suppliers to the DoD.
