D-Link’s Latest Switch Expands Popular EasySmart Gigabit Ethernet Switch Family

D-Link recently announced a new addition to its EasySmart line of affordable Gigabit Ethernet smart switches, the DGS-1100-24P twenty-four port PoE+ switch. Enclosed in a rugged metal housing and easily installable in a standard 19 inch rack, the DGS-1100-24P is a robust, reliable and built-to-last PoE switch suitable for all types of networks.

With Power-over-Ethernet capabilities on the first 12 ports, the DGS-1100-24P simplifies deployments with IP cameras, VoIP phones, wireless access points, and other standards-compliant powered devices. The DGS-1100-24P complies with the IEEE 802.3at PoE+ standard (up to 30W) and has a 100W power budget, which can be allocated across the 12 PoE ports in any manner necessary.

Managed via an intuitive, browser-based Graphical User Interface (GUI), all D-LinkEasySmart switches support essential L2 switching features such as a 802.1Q VLAN, QoS, bandwidth limiting, Link Aggregation and IGMP Snooping. The EasySmart management interface also provides administrators with a convenient way to monitor and control PoE functions, including displaying real-time PoE power usage and remotely rebooting IP cameras or access points from anywhere on the network, including over the Internet.

“With 24 Gigabit Ethernet ports, the DGS-1100-24P is a solid switching solution for any business,” said Steven Olen, director of product marketing, D-Link Systems, Inc. “It can power up to 12 PoE devices such as IP Cameras, and still has 12 additional Gigabit ports for connections to other devices, such as non-PoE cameras, NVRs, VMS systems, or other network switches.”

About the DGS-1100-24P
The DGS-1100-24P is compliant with IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE), consuming less energy by reducing power consumption when traffic volume is low. By deploying EEE devices, users can cut operating costs and even decrease the need for cooling equipment, helping small-and medium-sized businesses stay within their budgets. In addition, the switch features loopback detection and cable diagnostic troubleshooting tools, which help administrators quickly identify network issues so they can be corrected, minimizing downtime.

Additional benefits include:

  • Auto Surveillance VLAN: Ensures real-time video quality for monitoring and control without compromising the transmission of conventional network data
  • Bandwidth Control: Network administrators can reserve bandwidth for important functions that require more bandwidth
  • D-Link Network Assistant Utility: Allows administrators to discover multiple D-Link Smart Switches within the same L2 network segment, making initial setup of the Smart Switches quick and easy
  • Limited Lifetime Warranty: The DGS-1100-24P carries a Limited Lifetime Warranty, furthering D-Link’s commitment to product quality and long-term customer confidence

Availability
The DGS-1100-24P begins shipping in January 2015.It carries a list price of $389.99, and will be available throughout D-Link’s vast network of channel partners, including value-added resellers, distributors and online retailers.
