HARRISBURG, PA – D&H Distributing, the leading North American computer products and consumer electronics distributor, announces it has enhanced its offerings to support resellers in the K-12 education vertical, adding training opportunities, resources and materials to help VARs profit from this lucrative but complicated marketplace. New offerings include a K-12 webcast to be streamed at 2:00 p.m. on March 24 via the D&H Distributing Solutions Lab; a “K-12 Opportunity” booth at the distributor’s March 19 West Coast Technology Show; plus education brochure templates available through D&H’s Partner Services marketing library.
The March 24 Solutions Lab Webcast, “Open the Door to the K-12 Opportunity,” will be led by Larry Staub, director of D&H’s Education Division, and Toban Wynn, D&H’s outside K-12 services manager. It will include a live Q&A with these personnel after the broadcast portion. Customers who attend the webcast and Q&A will be eligible to win a GoPro HERO4 Silver Edition action camera.
The K-12 Opportunity booth at the D&H West Coast Technology Show in City of Industry, CA, spotlights computing and mobility products such as notebooks and tablets priced for the education market, plus a list of peripheral gear such as cases, stands, projectors and displays. In addition, the show includes an exhibit from RoBo 3D, whose dimensional printing capabilities have applications in education as a teaching aid, producing dimensional models and prototypes in the classroom.
The dandh.com K-12 landing page is constantly being updated with resources, product information and accessories, plus sales strategies for this vertical. The page currently contains new info from vendors including Kensington networking accessories, Tripp Lite power solutions, Gyration input devices and CTA Digital cases, plus background on powerful Chromebooks and other models scaled for the K-12 marketplace. The site also offers assistance for resellers on the bidding process, to guide customers through the complex process of applying for E-Rate funding or bidding for public classroom installations.
Similarly-themed K-12 booths and seminar sessions will appear at pending trade events on D&H’s schedule for 2015, as Common Core standards throughout the United States continue to call for increased technology in the classroom, opening more opportunities for VARS.
“The education market is unique. Complicated guidelines and government regulations have a strong influence on the VAR’s ability to capture business. We work closely with our vendors to develop programs to support these VARs and present products that are expressly selected and priced for this market,” said D&H’s Staub. “It’s an area where resellers often require a lot of guidance and knowledge before they can compete. But for those who prepare and stay informed on the latest technologies and developments, there are a lot of K-12 sales to be made. We want our customers to be on that forefront.”
