As document imaging technology and the needs of its largest customer group —healthcare providers — evolved, Chesapeake Document Services, a document imaging and management solutions provider, realized there was an untapped opportunity for growth in the electronic medical records (EMR) market. By filling an archiving and storage gap for its healthcare customers, Chesapeake began to extend its relationship with all its document management customers. But to do that, it first had to develop its own secure data center and then sell the idea of hosted storage to its clients.
