CompTIA Opens Registration, Unveils Featured Speakers For 2016 Annual Member Meeting

Yearly gathering of the leading IT industry trade association set for March 22-24 in Chicago

Thought-provoking speakers, a series of strategy sessions and networking opportunities and the unveiling of its first ever Member of the Year will highlight the 2016 CompTIA Annual Member Meeting, the nonprofit trade association for the IT industry revealed today.

Registration for the 2016 CompTIA Annual Member Meeting, set for March 22 thru March 24 at the Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park Hotel, is now open.

“Each Spring our members – the very best within the IT channel – come together at our Annual Member Meeting to debate, discuss and dissect the new technologies, challenging issues and big opportunities facing the industry,” says Kelly Ricker, senior vice president, events and education, CompTIA.

“These debates are always lively, the discussions are thought provoking and the outcomes are actionable, delivering guidance for the IT industry and IT channel and helping set the course for CompTIA’s future endeavors,” Ricker adds.

Speakers Announced
David Robertson, Professor of Practice at the Wharton School and host of the Innovation Navigation radio show, is scheduled to deliver the keynote address at the CompTIA Annual Member Meeting at 8 a.m. Central on Wednesday, March 23.

Robertson’s presentation – “Innovating Around the Box: A Low Risk, High Reward Approach to Innovation” – will examine how some of the most important innovations in history don’t occur inside or outside “the box,” but around the box.

Robertson contends that when core products are surrounded by a family of complementary innovations, they become irresistible. He’ll detail how this strategy works and how the best companies use it to win in their markets.

Also scheduled to speak – as well as amaze, entertain and inspire – is David Kwong, one of today’s most innovative, virtuosic and smart illusionists. As a New York Times crossword puzzle constructor and go-to expert on illusion for major Hollywood blockbusters, Kwong will offer his signature style of thought-provoking entertainment, intelligence and humor, along with the fundamental elements of storytelling.

Kwong is scheduled to appear on the evening of Tuesday, March 22, following the presentation of the inaugural CompTIA Member of the Year Award, which will celebrate and honor a Premier Member for their commitment, passion, professionalism and leadership in assisting CompTIA in its mission to advance the IT industry.
