Complete FalconStor NSS Product Line to Support VMware vSphere
FalconStor Software, the provider of TOTALLY Open data protection solutions, today announced that the FalconStor NSS-S12 storage array supports VMware vSphereTM, the industry’s first cloud operating system. The FalconStor Network Storage Server (NSS) storage array is already VMware ReadyTM Certified, having completed the VMware Hardware Certification Program testing criteria for use with VMware vSphere and is now listed on the VMware Hardware Compatibility Guide.
By supporting VMware vSphere, FalconStor can further extend the value of its entire NSS product line into customers’ next-generation datacenters and help enable customers to manage large collections of infrastructure — including CPUs, storage and networking — as a seamless, flexible and dynamic cloud environment. The VMware Hardware Certification Program enables VMware Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) program members to provide mutual customers with jointly supported hardware solutions. Passing the extensive certification testing helps ensure that FalconStor NSS is compatible with VMware technology and ready for deployment in customer environments.
“We are pleased that FalconStor Software is taking the next step to helping provide customers with a more flexible, reliable and scalable computing environment,” said Bernie Mills, senior director, alliance programs, VMware. “By supporting VMware vSphere, our partners can further enable increased efficiency, control and choice for customers.”
“We believe FalconStor NSS is an ideal storage virtualization solution for VMware virtualized environments for three reasons,” said Bernie Wu, VP of business development for FalconStor Software. “First, it is an open storage virtualization, provisioning, and replication platform that provides VMware customers the freedom to choose any VMware-certified storage hardware both locally and at remote DR sites; second, it enables VMware Site Recovery Manager capability on any VMware-certified storage array hardware and performs a WAN-optimized replication service that saves time and money; and third, with our patented application-aware snapshot capabilities, FalconStor NSS performs fast and transactionally consistent recovery from datacenter failures for most industry leading applications.”
