CMS Launches Meaningful Use Webinar Series
By Megan Williams, contributing writer
CMS recently announced it will be offering a three-part webinar series on Meaningful Use (MU), the Medicare and Medicaid incentive program that provides financial incentives for healthcare entities which can prove that they are improving patient care through “meaningful use” of EHR technology. The series is open to all interested stakeholders across provider, payer, vendor, and government entities.
The series is presented in partnership with the Workgroup For Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI). Unfortunately, it is not possible to register for sections individually as registration includes access to all three live webinars, as well as recordings at no additional cost.
The first hour-long webinar, What the Delay Means to You — What you should be doing now and other questions answered, was held July 15. It featured the Assistant Director of Federal Affairs of the AMA (Mari Savickis), the Senior Director Of Federal Affairs at the College Of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME), Jeffery Smith, MPP, and Senior Policy Advisor at the Medical Group Management Association, Robert M. Tennant, MA.
The second and third webinars will be held July 30 and August 13, respectively.
July 30: Meaningful Use Essentials for the Small Provider — What you need to do and when
Smaller providers, with their limited IT budgets and greater vulnerability to workflow interruption, are impacted differently than larger hospitals and healthcare entities. If you work with individual or small group practices, smaller urgent care facilities or any other similar entity, this will be the best use of your time.
August 13: Preparing for the Future of Meaningful Use — What you should be preparing for and how payment works
MU Stage 3 implementation will extend until 2017 so your clients will be feeling the impact for at least another three years. Solutions providers interested in what this means may find benefit in attending this segment.
Rates are as follows:
- Premium Members & WEDI Pass Holders: Free
- WEDI Members: $99
