Business Solutions asked channel executives their opinions on the most significant trends and opportunities in healthcare IT, and responses related to topics including cloud, security, and mobility.

Garret Grajek, CSO of dincloud: “The most important trends in healthcare (which also reflects the rest of the IT industry verticals) are in mobile and cloud, specifically when done together. Healthcare has an ‘advantage’ of being a general follower in the latest IT industry — it can leap from other industries and go straight to what is the most efficient and productive mechanism for field input, data analysis, and team collaboration. This is all doable via cloud-based software services utilized via mobile devices.”

Andrew Bagrin, CEO of My Digital Shield: “One growing trend is ‘cloud adoption.’ Within the healthcare field especially, we’re seeing a growing number of reports surrounding data breaches which could have been prevented had that practice transitioned all confidential patient data to the cloud. From a security perspective, an increasing number of SMBs are falling victim to some form of cybercrime or another, which is impacting their businesses more and more every day.”
