CIO Panel Provides Mobility Insights For VARs

CIOs Cindy McKenzie of Fox Entertainment Group, Norm Fjeldheim of Qualcomm, and Sue-Jean Lin of healthcare company Allergan, were the featured panelists during a May 16 presentation at Ingram Micro’s Solutions Partner Invitational at the San Diego Marriott Marquis and Marina. Mario Leone, the CIO of Ingram Micro, served as the moderator for the panel.

The goal of the panel was to provide resellers insight from a CIO perspective regarding how and why they make their technology investments, what VARs can do to win their business, and future technology trends within their industries. In this excerpt from the panel discussion, the CIOs discuss the challenges related to mobility at their companies.

“I look at (mobility) in two different generations,” Lin says. “I think generation one is over. It’s pretty much business to employee – it’s about connectivity and making people connected. The second generation of mobility is about pushing this technology to the front office. … For Allergan, what we really focus on now is taking some of the technology and enabling our salespeople to engage.”
