Böwe Bell + Howell Scanners Revs Up Sales And Channel Support With Two Promotions And Four New Hires
Böwe Bell + Howell Scanners is expanding its sales and technical support teams with a mix of in-house and industry veterans to further boost its channel and sales activities.
In addition to his duties as director of engineering and operations, Michael Scheller, 39, now serves as director of channel sales. After designing jet engines for GE and scanners for Böwe Bell + Howell, this 15-year high-tech manufacturing veteran will focus on supporting the company's distribution channel partners worldwide.
Scheller will develop the inside sales team to work more closely with the technical and operations teams to streamline logistics and fulfillment, technical support and customer service. By consolidating U.S. and international distribution support, he expects to increase the sales teams' focus on growing the business.
Scheller will continue to be involved with the design and delivery of Böwe Bell + Howell scanners. He holds a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Illinois at Champaign and a master's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Cincinnati.
Greg Gautcher, 36, was promoted to senior inside sales representative. Formerly, Gautcher served as product manager for several Böwe Bell + Howell scanners, including Copiscan II, the FB Series and most recently, Sidekick.
Six of Gautcher's 15 years in technology marketing and management have been in imaging technology at Böwe Bell + Howell. As product manager, Gautcher was responsible for new product development based on market and competitive analysis, and sales support.
In his new role, Gautcher will manage sales support for the reseller and distribution channels. He will train and support the growing inside sales team to respond more effectively to customer inquiries and sales leads. Gautcher holds a bachelor's of science degree in communications from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Ill.
Laura E. Burish, 37, a new technical instructor, brings to Böwe Bell + Howell 17 years of experience in technical support, sales and management. Burish previously worked as product support manager at Tom Zosel Associates, a provider of consulting services and software solutions in distribution, where she managed, tested and provided customer support for application installations. Before that, Burish worked as asset and telecommunications manager with Deloitte Consulting in Chicago.
At Böwe Bell + Howell, Burish will develop product manuals and training materials and provide technical training to authorized service engineers on the company's Spectrum scanner line.
Cassie Cabana, 31, joins the company as technical writer. With more than 10 years of technical, legal and administrative writing experience, Cabana most recently served as senior technical writer with Open Text Corp., a provider of enterprise content management software solutions. At Open Text she wrote online and printed manuals and installation guides for users, developers and administrators.
In her new position, Cabana will create the operator and service manuals for the Truper 3200, Böwe Bell + Howell's new low-volume production scanner. She also will work on computer-based training modules for the Sidekick and Spectrum product lines.
Cabana has a strong technical background and has completed software certifications including Visual Basic, MS Access and SQL.
Lisa Kelly, 29, inside sales representative comes to Böwe Bell + Howell with more than eight years of experience in sales and account management. Kelly previously served in several sales and marketing roles with Marriott International. Responsible for growing sales in overlooked markets, she consistently exceeded sales targets at Marriott.
Kelly completed coursework in business management at Suomi College in Hancock, Mich.
With close to 16 years of marketing, sales and customer support experience, Svetlana Potrue, 38, joins Böwe Bell + Howell as inside sales representative. Most recently, Potrue served as an executive representative with the Consumer Relations and Information Center of the Marketing Services group at Kraft Foods, where she was charged with resolving high-risk consumer complaints and corporate affairs.
Potrue holds a bachelor's degree in corporate and organizational communications from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Ill.
Potrue and Kelly will manage customer inquiries about the company's production scanners, including pricing and availability. They will build and grow distributor and reseller relationships and support the company's regional sales managers in achieving their sales goals.
