Böwe Bell + Howell Scanners Adds Three To Engineering, Marketing, And Technical Support

Böwe Bell + Howell Scanners has hired three technology industry specialists in its marketing, engineering and technical support departments: Philip Miller, Lara Muldoon, and Herbert Stefan. Böwe Bell + Howell manufactures and markets a full line of high-end, midrange, and entry-level document scanners.

Phillip Miller, 30, has been hired as lead manufacturing engineer at Böwe Bell + Howell where he will focus primarily on the company's Copiscan 8000 Spectrum line of high-volume document scanners. His responsibilities include supporting product goals and manufacturing operations for current and future lines of scanners.

Miller most recently worked at Boeing/Midcom and Northrop Grumman, where he worked extensively on developing warfare systems. He gained experience in all aspects of mechanical design, testing and production and was keenly involved with electromechanical device operation, wire boards, circuit boards and optics.

Miller earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois and has completed several mechanical engineering certifications and training.

Lara Muldoon, 28, a product manager, joins Böwe Bell + Howell from Motorola Inc., Schaumburg, Ill., where she most recently worked as a marketing product planner for a line of two-way radio products. Her experience at Motorola includes product marketing and development, market research and project management.

At Böwe Bell + Howell, Muldoon will manage all aspects of product development from a strategic marketing perspective for the company's Spectrum product line.

Muldoon earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Marquette University in Milwaukee. She is currently pursuing a master's degree in business administration at DePaul University in Chicago.

Herbert Stefan, 53, rejoins Böwe Bell + Howell after three years at Eastman Kodak, which acquired Böwe Bell + Howell's services division in 2001. At Eastman Kodak, Stefan provided onsite and call center technical support for various document imaging scanners including those from Böwe Bell + Howell.

As technical support engineer, Stefan will be responsible for providing technical support to trained Böwe Bell + Howell ASPs (authorized service providers) and VARs (value-added resellers).

Stefan earned an associate's of applied science degree in electronic engineering technology from DeVry Institute of Technology in Chicago. He also has completed various courses in electronics, business and sales from the City Colleges of Chicago and holds several certifications in document imaging.
