Brivo Introduces CloudPass Designed For Federal Access Market

CloudPass offers government agencies an economical path to the cloud for HSPD-12 compliance
Bethesda, MD – Brivo Systems LLC, leader in cloud applications for security management, today announced the introduction of its newest software product, CloudPass, a Physical Access Control System (PACS) designed to assist federal government agencies in meeting Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) with a solution that also enables them to transition simply and economically to the cloud.
CloudPass has been designed specifically for government agencies to provide unlimited scalability, a new level of flexibility, and maximized security—all in a Software as a Service model. Deployment of enterprise wide or single site systems are equally simple with the HSPD-12 compliant CloudPass service. Field hardware automatically and securely connects to Brivo’s dedicated FISMA compliant data center, enabling system management from desktop or mobile browser. Brivo’s fault tolerant and redundant architecture ensures continuity of operations.
“The Federal government is a very special market with unique needs and requirements,” said Brivo EVP, John Szczygiel. “We’ve spent more than two years in research and discussion to understand this market, and then we designed CloudPass to offer a powerful solution that meets the demands government agencies are facing to ensure compliance with both HSPD-12 and FIPS 201 directives.”
The Software as a Service subscription model of CloudPass frees agencies from the need to purchase and maintain the underlying computing infrastructure and software. The centrally hosted software model greatly reduces the redundant cost and time requirements for achieving compliance with government-wide IT standards such as FISMA.
CloudPass is based on Brivo's commercial cloud-based security solution which has a track record of over 10 years of successful deployment in tens of thousands of corporate and government facilities. Brivo’s proven commercial service is augmented with numerous specialized capabilities to meet the unique requirements of government customers:
- Enterprise-grade PACS features and unlimited system capacity
- Ultra-high availability and FISMA compliant
- Identity management and certificate validation
- Encrypted communications (SSL & FIPS140)
- Compatible with government smart cards
- Extensive audit and reporting features
“CloudPass offers federal government users a rich array of benefits beyond all the impressive features and functionality—a unique community of users; simple, fast deployment; predictable, low costs; and ‘pay as you go’ billing that will have wide appeal,” Szczygiel concluded.
CloudPass will be on display, along with all of Brivo’s access control solutions, at the 58th Annual ASIS Seminar and Exhibits, 10-12 September in Philadelphia, PA, booth #3111.
