Arkivio, Inc. Joins Hitachi Data Systems ISV Partner Program
Arkivio, Inc., providing leading Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) solutions for the enterprise, today announced that it has joined the Hitachi Data Systems independent software vendor (ISV) partner program. As part of its participation in the program, Arkivio will be ensuring interoperability between ARKIVIO® AUTO-STOR and the Hitachi Content Archive platform. The ISV program announced today by Hitachi Data Systems, provider of Application Optimized Storage™ solutions and a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (NYSE: HIT), delivers key services to companies that develop software that is interoperable with Hitachi storage solutions. (See related Hitachi Data Systems press releases announced today, "Hitachi Introduces 21st Century Digital Archive Solution" and "Hitachi Announces Major Support for its New ISV Partner Program.")
The ARKIVIO® AUTO-STOR software provides Hitachi Data Systems' customers data and storage discovery, classification, and management all in one comprehensive ILM solution for file system archiving and retention, regulatory compliance, backup and disaster recovery optimization, and capacity management across a tiered storage infrastructure. IT Administrators are able to identify and report on unstructured data across Hitachi storage, heterogeneous file systems and storage platforms, and DAS, NAS, and SAN volumes. Additionally, the ARKIVIO software organizes and classifies data according to its business value and then automates archival and migration to the Hitachi Content Archive Platform based on administrator-defined retention policies - all without requiring deployment of agents on application servers or storage devices.
"We are working together with Hitachi Data Systems to provide our mutual customers an active archive solution that protects and manages business critical data for the long term," said Giovanni Paliska, president and CEO Arkivio. "Hitachi's ISV program provides a testing and validation process to give customers added confidence as they implement ILM solutions using the ARKIVIO® AUTO-STOR classification system to select and transparently migrate data to the Hitachi Content Archive Platform."
The Hitachi Content Archive Platform is an active archive solution comprised of both software and hardware, which supports policy-based integration from many distributed or centralized repositories such as email, file systems, databases, applications and content or document management systems. The Hitachi Content Archive Platform ensures the secure archival-quality retention, preservation or verifiable destruction of content. Through the use of the Hitachi Content Archive Platform, users can leverage a set of common and unified archive services such as centralized search, policy-based retention, authentication and protection.
"The Hitachi Data Systems ISV Partner Program helps us work with partners, such as Arkivio, so that we can jointly provide our customers with the best solutions for their archiving needs—both from a technology and business perspective," said Jack Domme, senior vice president, Global Solutions, Strategy and Development, Hitachi Data Systems. "Arkivio's strength in file system ILM provides an application platform to select and drive heterogeneous data into a secure, tested active archive from Hitachi giving customers the confidence they need as they work to manage their rapidly growing data in a more regulated business environment."
