Accusoft Pegasus To Demonstrate Web App For Document Viewing On Mobile Devices At AIIM 2010
Accusoft Pegasus, the leading provider of imaging software development kits (SDKs), announces it will be demonstrating an iPhone web app for document viewing built with the ImageGear software development kit (SDK) at the AIIM Expo (www.aiimexpo.com) in two weeks. Using ImageGear v17, enterprises with web access to documents can expand information access beyond desktop PCs, and deliver the ability to view any document anywhere, through a natural user interface.
This proof-of-concept application shows how the ImageGear SDK can be used with JavaScript and CSS animations to create an intuitive web app for use on the Apple iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. ImageGear delivers the ASP.NET technology required for mobile devices to view, navigate, and annotate documents from Enterprise Content Management (ECM) systems.
The primary focus of this iPhone web app is on providing portable access to documents stored on a server. It targets the Safari browser for viewing of TIFF, PDF, and JPEG files. Features include paging, zoom, pan, rotation, thumbnails, access to file information, annotation viewing, and a magnifying glass. These features are activated by familiar iPhone gestures such as tap, flick, pinch, and touch-and-hold. File information currently includes file type, resolution, file size, and compression type.
"More and more people have web browsers in their possession at all times. Projections are that half of all page views will be viewed from portable devices, rather than desktop PCs, within five years," says Paul Firth, product manager at Accusoft Pegasus. "We deliver technology to our customers today that accelerates development and enables companies to extend access to business documents onto mobile devices."
The demo illustrates usage of ImageGear v17 for mobile viewing, and offers a sneak peak of new annotation functionality coming soon in the ImageGear .NET SDK.
Demos will be held April 20 - 22, 2010 in the Accusoft Pegasus Booth 1633, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, PA. Book a demo at AIIM 2010 before the show!
