Lincoln Systems Uses Maximus Severe Duty Terminal in Extreme Applications
The Maximus Severe Duty terminal from Accu-Time Systems (ATS) is designed to withstand very harsh environments. Lincoln Systems, a systems integrator in Cumberland, Maine, makes full use of the terminal's ability to operate in humid, wet, dusty, corrosive, and hot or cold applications.

According to Lincoln Systems' President and CEO, David Lincoln, "Lincoln Systems specializes in things that don't exist yet. For twenty years we have provided custom integrated software and hardware solutions for unique applications." For more than five years the company has been installing ATS severe duty NEMA 4x rated terminals along with their Timeworks timekeeping software in petroleum, natural gas, and chemical processing facilities.

Today's Maximus Severe Duty terminals are IP65 and NEMA 4x rated. They resist corrosion, physical damage, temperature extremes, and water and dust incursion. Lincoln says, "I like the fact that we can order heaters in the terminal enclosures and use them in extremely cold outdoor installations in places like Northern Canada. I also have a high degree of confidence that the terminals will last a long time."

Lincoln Systems regularly takes on difficult time and attendance applications in hot and dry deserts, coastal salt spray and salt air, offshore oil and gas platforms and other steel structures, marine environments, high humidity, and extreme cold. Lincoln cites a typical application that uses a bank of five ATS severe duty terminals that are accessed hundreds of times per day by chemical plant workers without failing.
