Access Control And Video Surveillance News From October 2014

Each month, Business Solutions reports news on business in the channel. This month in access control and video surveillance news, March Networks introduces a new video management solution, Panasonic announces a transit surveillance solution, and DVTEL offers a new HD camera.

March Networks Delivers New Video Management Solutions

March Networks offers a new video management system (VMS). The new Command Application Bundles combine open Command Recording Server (CRS) software with Dell server and storage options. Users have access through a browser-based interface to features including centralized system management, mass configuration, real-time health monitoring, and search and investigation tools. The open solution also supports a wide range of third-party edge devices, as well as the company’s own portfolio of megapixel and high-definition IP cameras. The enterprise-class Dell server and storage platforms are optimized for remote locations.

The integrated offering is available in three configurations, supporting as many as 128 video streams and 3,840 frames per second across all channels at megapixel resolution. The CRS 128 solution provides up to 28 TB of internal RAID-5 storage and optional external storage arrays that can be daisy-chained together to increase archived video retention, while the CRS 32 Local Control solution can be used as a stand-alone workstation.

Panasonic Announces Transit Surveillance Solution

Panasonic System Communications Company of North America announced its new i-PRO Transit Solution, built to address transportation agencies’ security needs. The solution features Panasonic’s rugged, open-platform cameras including the i-PRO MEGA Super Dynamic HD 720p, i-PRO Super Dynamic Full HD 1080p with microphone capabilities, and 360-degree Full HD 1080p vandal-resistant dome network cameras. The cameras are rated IP66 for water and dust resistance, and exterior cameras are secured in specially designed shroud housings for added protection against weather and damage from impacts. The open platform network video recorder utilizes video management software for viewing and managing video files and also includes an optional IEC 60068 certified anti-vibration kit to ensure smooth operation on moving buses or trains.

DVTEL Introduces New HD Camera

DVTEL released its new ioimage HD cameras that feature DVTEL’s Quasar high-resolution, low-bandwidth and storage and are optimized for outdoor and low-light conditions. The ioimage HD cameras offer two resolutions: 2.1 megapixel, HD 1080p or 1.3 megapixel, HD 720p resolution with true WDR (wide dynamic range). The cameras are DVTEL’s first HD cameras that include ioimage analytics, and a Web interface facilitates deployment of the camera and analytic behavior. The cameras are supported on all DVTEL VMS lines and have ONVIF support for ease of integration with third-party VMS platforms.
