WavestoreUSA Releases New Version Of VMS Software
WavestoreUSA, a provider of professional digital video and audio recording solutions for video surveillance applications, released V5.46, the latest version of the advanced IP Wavestore V5 Video Management Software suite. Features include support for Axis T8311 PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) joystick, support for ONVIF Profile S Talkback, customized camera drivers for Arecont, GANZ, Ampleye, and Avigilon cameras, and integration support for Perimeter Protection solutions from Fiber SenSys. The new version also includes upgrades to Metadata search and preliminary network setup configurations. Enhanced integrated features of the solution include built-in dewarping which enables users to optimize live and recorded views of 360-degree fisheye surveillance cameras, facial recognition, and integrated security alarm management functions.
Genetec Expands Partnership With BCDVideo
Genetec, a provider of unified IP security solutions, recently announced a strategic partnership with BCDVideo. This partnership gives Genetec exclusive rights to resell BCDVideo servers and storage equipment. Through this agreement, Genetec channel partners and integrators now have access to all BCDVideo Nova Series servers and storage arrays, which come pre-loaded with Genetec’s Security Center software. These network appliances can be deployed as unified security systems or as a stand-alone platform for video, access control, or license plate recognition. The open architecture of Genetec Security Center allows customers to select their preferred cameras, door controllers, and edge device hardware from a wide range of manufacturers.
OnSSI’s New Licensing Structure Can Accelerate Migration To IP
OnSSI announces a new licensing structure that can accelerate the migration from analog to IP video surveillance systems. The licensing is based on a one-to-one-to-many licensing structure — only one license is required for each encoder IP address, regardless of the number of analog cameras connected to the encoder. This provides analog system owners with a cost-efficient incentive to implement their migration from analog to IP functionality without having to rip and replace legacy edge devices and cabling infrastructure.
D-Link Expands IP Camera Line, Offers New Access Point
D-Link introduced two new IP cameras: the 2-MP Indoor Pan/Tilt Dome Camera (DCS-5615) and the 1-MP HD Outdoor Dome Camera with Color Night Vision (DCS-6315). The DCS-5615 features 1920 x 1080 resolution, a motorized pan/tilt mechanism, and wide-angle lens within a compact indoor dome. The DCS-6315 rugged outdoor network camera offers 1280 x 720 resolution with enhanced imaging sensitivity, for color detail in low light, as well as black-and-white mode and built-in infrared LED illuminators for very low light conditions. Both cameras include an integrated microSD card slot for local “in camera” recording; H.264, MPEG-4, and MJPEG compression; multiple independent streaming profiles; and ONVIF compliance.
D-Link also introduced the DAP-2660, an 802.11ac wireless access point. It features a low-profile white housing and the latest 802.11ac standard, with maximum wireless signal rates of up to 300 Mbps using the 2.4 GHz band, and 867 Mbps using the 5 GHz band. The access point has internal antennas and can be powered using the included AC to DC adapter or directly via the network cable using Power over Ethernet. It maintains a secure network with WPA (Wi-Fi protected access)/WPA2 personal/enterprise encryption, MAC (media access control) address filtering, wireless LAN segmentation, SSID (service set identifier) broadcast disable, rogue AP detection, wireless broadcast scheduling, and up to eight VLANs per band for implementing multiple SSIDs.
Pivot3 Upgrades Virtual SAN Software
Pivot3, a supplier of video surveillance and virtual desktop hyper-converged infrastructure, has announced a comprehensive update to the operating system of its vSTAC suite of technologies. Online upgrades of vSTAC virtual SAN software are now available, including non-disruptive, fully integrated maintenance capability — virtual machines are allocated to other appliances within the array to ensure continued performance. Upgrades to vSTAC Manager Suite feature an updated user interface and proactive diagnostics to ensure system uptime. The new OS also includes improved VMware integration and is fully compatible with vSphere 5.5.
