VAR Lands 19-Location Hosted Telephony Project

Hosted Private Branch eXchange (PBX) is transforming VARs into cloud services providers. "Today's business climate is such that, for VARs, sales and margins have been shrinking drastically for hardware and support," says Jeff Savage, VP of business development at Telesphere, a hosted business telecommunications company which has a communications service that is centralized in its own private cloud and delivered privately point to point to its clients. Telesphere purchases its telephony equipment from ScanSource Communications, which includes the telephony network, desk phones, and hosted services — a product sold as Telesphere Complete. "The answer for VARs is to begin focusing on selling hosted telecommunications, which provide residual income streams," Savage says.
