Mortgage Loans Meet The Paperless Enterprise

Case in point is Meritage Mortgage, a mortgage lender that was looking for a solution to combat rising paper costs. Specifically, it wanted to reduce paper handling, eliminate lost documents, and share information across its enterprise.

iDatix recommended its iSynergy business process automation solution. iSynergy is an integrated solution designed to manage unstructured data. The solution enables organizations to capture and share paper and electronic mortgage documents in real time. Also, it streamlines end-to-end mortgage processing from loan origination and electronic delivery of mortgage files to the secondary market. In addition to implementing iSynergy Mortgage, iDatix provided Meritage Mortgage with 16 Fujitsu fi-5650C color duplex workgroup scanners equipped with a desktop interface called iScan.

With the iSynergy installation, Meritage Mortgage can capture paper and electronic mortgage documents in real time. It can also automatically index, assign individual document types, electronically route, and simultaneously share digital mortgage documents with all responsible parties throughout the mortgage process (i.e. underwriting, reviewing, approving, and shipping).

Also, Meritage Mortgage is able to capture documents at the beginning of the loan origination process and simultaneously access each document within the mortgage file — enabling multiple phases of the loan process to occur at the same time. The ability to have concurrent access to loan documents, coupled with the ability to route documents electronically, has greatly reduced the time required to process loans. With these enhancements, Meritage Mortgage expects a 12-month return on its investment.
