Increase POS Sales With Time And Attendance Functionality

In Mooresville, IN, a Dairy Queen franchisee recently opened a new store and decided to have distributor CRS install the 2005 Maitre'D point of sale (POS) system to control its daily business operations. It was after ample consideration and deliberation that this Dairy Queen franchisee decided it was time to switch from using its previous cash register system to implementing a complete POS solution to streamline all of its operations. Although the owner knew his store wanted a complete quick-service POS system including credit card processing, time and attendance, remote access, and comprehensive reporting features, choosing the right POS vendor and solution proved to be more of a challenge. With this information, managers/owners can print reports that calculate important labor information and create schedules and relate them to daily punch-in and punch-out procedures. One of the things the Dairy Queen franchisee was most impressed with was the export file function, which is used to export information such as payroll hours, rates of pay, and amounts of tips. This module can ultimately be used to send data to the corporate office or to a third party accounting application. The Dairy Queen owner explains, "The timekeeping piece of the puzzle is light years ahead of what we were able to do with the cash register system in terms of tracking hours, job functions, pay rates, and, most significantly, editing errors. The reporting functionality, including timekeeping, is extensive." The time and attendance module eliminates time card compilation chores and allows owners to spend more time managing their businesses and, ultimately, increasing their sales and providing higher quality service to their customers.
