Toshiba TEC's Lee Highlights Two Printers At VARTECH

Toshiba TEC showcased two printers — including one that has yet to be released — last week at VARTECH, the annual conference hosted by value-added distributor BlueStar. I met with Theresa Lee, the product manager of Toshiba’s Electronic Imaging Division, during the VARTECH CodeZone expo to receive more details on the products.

Toshiba DB-EA4D 2ST Printer

The DB-EA4D 2ST is designed for applications requiring dual output, providing an alternative to traditional one-sided printing solutions. Lee said primary applications for the printer include distribution centers, returns, and tickets.

“We see big growth in this printer because of e-commerce,” Lee told me. “Shipping is happening more frequently — not just on large pallets anymore. There is less product shipped per order, like ship-to-store, which results in more overall shipments and the need for more labels.”
