Starting a new business in a recession is a risky proposition, but Jamie Barmach believed the poor economy was exactly the type of environment he needed to launch his IT company in early 2009. Barmach and his wife Jenny started JEB & Company, LLC because Jamie knew that managed services was growing in popularity due in part to many companies laying off IT employees. In addition, he knew that SMBs needed IT services but also needed to cut their IT budgets. Armed with that knowledge, he positioned JEB & Company as a source for providing enterprise-class IT services for SMBs, which he defines as having between 5 and 100 users.
