Netsocket Launches ‘Netsocket Virtual Partner Program For Technology Partners'

Program designed to recruit and promote third party developed virtualized applications for Netsocket’s Virtual Edge solution

Netsocket, a technology leader in virtualized, software-defined networking, recently announced the official launch of its Virtual Partner Program for Technology Partners. Netsocket’s Virtual Partner Program now serves both Channel and Technology Partners that help the company deliver virtualized networking solutions optimized for SMB and enterprise branch offices.

Simplicity of Netsocket’s Virtual Partner Program
Netsocket’s Virtual Edge solution delivers cloud-based, automated service creation, delivery, management and orchestration and a broad suite of virtualized applications called vApps. Virtual Edge is designed for Managed Service Providers providing cloud-based IT services to their SMB and Enterprise customers. “Managed services are one of the fastest growing areas for partners serving SMB clients (Enterprise ROBOs have similar needs), providing them a way to leverage their technology investment and skills as they transform their businesses toward offering a full range of cloud-based solutions,” stated Kevin Rhone, senior partnering consultant ESG. “By creating an ecosystem of innovative 3rd party virtualized network services, Netsocket will enable its MSP partners to capitalize on an evolving SDN and NFV market opportunity.”

By opening up its application offerings to include a vast array of qualified, third-party applications for the Virtual Edge, Netsocket can deliver to its Service Provider customers a depth and breadth of new virtualized services that MSPs can in turn offer their customers. To qualify an application as a vApp, Technology Partner’s software application must be “virtualized”, meaning that the application is targeted to run in a virtual machine. No application development or integration is required. Netsocket will develop the rules that enable automatic application delivery and will certify the application’s interoperability with Netsocket’s Virtual Edge to formally qualify it as an official vApp. Benefits to the Independent Software Vendor (ISV) include:

  • Market Awareness – Netsocket will promote the application and its value proposition to its MSP customers and industry at large through its marketing and lead generation programs
  • Enterprise Customer Awareness – Netsocket’s network of channel partners will promote vApps as part of their services catalogue to their SMB and enterprise customers

To apply for Netsocket’s Virtual Partner Program, the ISV can submit their online application for Technology Partners.

“Our Technology and Channel partners all play a valuable role in our Virtual Partner Program ecosystem”, said Fletcher Hamilton, Netsocket president and CEO. “They help us to deliver best of breed technology and IT services in a completely automated way. Companies can then realize the huge cost and productivity benefits of virtualization at the network edge.

Growing The Netsocket Ecosystem
Netsocket’s Technology Partners today include reputable partners with best-in-class applications such as Fortinet, Genband, and Ubiquiti in addition to an array of Open Source applications. The functionality of these offerings include IDS/IPS, IP PBX, WiFi controller, and more.

"Netsocket’s Virtual Edge is a compelling solution for MSPs that are looking to improve and extend the reach of their IT services," said Stephan Tallent, director MSSPs Americas for Fortinet. "We are pleased to have FortiGate as a featured vApp that allows MSPs to include an Advanced Security and Firewall offering for their customers.” Fortinet’s award-winning FortiGate network security platform delivers unmatched performance and protection while simplifying the network. Fortinet offers models for any deployment requirement, from the desktop FortiGate-20 series for small offices and retail networks to the chassis-based FortiGate-5000 series for large enterprises, service providers, data centers and carriers.
