As mobile devices transform the way applications are being built, deployed, and managed, great opportunities are emerging for the channel. CompTIA presented five mobile opportunities in a research report.
- It’s a multidevice world — good news for the channel. CompTIA’s 3rd Annual Trends in U.S. Enterprise Mobility study found that many companies now support three devices for employee, including laptops, phones, and tablets. This provides a great opportunity for the channel to provide and support applications for this multidevice ecosystem. Managed services providers (MSPs) should develop per-device pricing models that are conducive to this new reality.
- There is a widening mobility skills gap for IT workers. According to CompTIA this gap is multidimensional, from having unfilled open positions in the mobile area to upper management wanting to provide more mobile capabilities to both employees and customers to a need for deep technical skills by IT teams to manage mobile devices and apps. The widening gap also means great opportunities for solution providers who can help train IT workers on mobile.
