I Don't Know Any of My Passwords, And That's Awesome
By Joshua Oakes, IT Glue
I don’t know any of my passwords. I’m okay with this. I don’t need to know them. I don’t want to know them. I don’t use the same password twenty times over, and I don’t have a little notebook with passwords in it sitting in my desk drawer, either. I just don’t know any of my passwords.
Why is this good?
Let me count the ways.
One, I don’t have easy to remember passwords. They are all impossibly long and complex. There’s no mnemonic that would help me remember any of my passwords, anyway. My passwords are difficult to brute force.
Two, they are stored securely. I store them in IT Glue – could just as easily be MyGlue – where they are protected by SSO and MFA. So it’s not easy for somebody to gain access to my account.
