Because of this complexity, evaluating opportunities to employ technical applications software for resale is a multi-dimensional task, requiring many perspectives. Alongside the analysis of a company’s capabilities and industry focus, assessment requires careful consideration of competitor capabilities. It also requires consideration of a host of other factors including: existing channels to market, pricing models, regional distribution, etc.

The starting point for evaluating opportunities should therefore be a comprehensive “market landscape” that brings together all of the relevant factors that must be considered for the area of the market into which the opportunity falls.
