Catalyst Telecom Now Offering EMC Storage Solutions

Catalyst Telecom, a sales unit of ScanSource, Inc., and value-added distributor of voice, video and data convergence solutions, is now, through an OEM relationship, offering industry-leading storage solutions from EMC Corporation, a global leader in enabling businesses and service providers to transform their operations and deliver information technology as a service. Through this OEM relationship, Catalyst is providing unified communications and data solutions that incorporate EMC VNX and VNXe unified storage solutions with Avaya IP Office, Avaya’s industry-leading unified communications solution, specially designed to meet the communications challenges facing small and medium enterprises.

By incorporating and offering EMC’s VNX and VNXe storage technology along with Avaya IP Office through Catalyst Telecom’s Custom Configuration Center, reseller partners have ready, cost-effective access to a complete solution.

“Our voice, video and data focused customers have been demanding complementary storage solutions from our sales team,” said Mike Ferney, vice president of merchandising, Catalyst Telecom. “EMC is a market leader in data storage, which makes it an ideal storage partner for Catalyst and our technology partners.  Combining EMC’s industry-leading storage platforms with our value-added services, including our ability to design and engineer solutions, enables resellers to grow their Unified Communications business more efficiently and cost-effectively.”

“The addition of EMC VNX and VNXe technologies to Avaya IP office makes enterprise-grade storage accessible for small- and medium-sized businesses,” said Anton Prenneis, OEM technical evangelist, EMC Corporation. “By offering EMC as the storage technology for Avaya IP Office, Catalyst is providing layers of industry-leading technology in one easy-to-deploy bundle, ensuring that customers have the best solutions on the market at every level.”

“The relationship between EMC and Catalyst Telecom is great news for the channel, as our continued move towards virtualized software applications will drive resellers to solutions that require storage,” said Karl Soderlund, vice president Americas channel sales, Avaya. “Catalyst is a long-standing trusted partner to Avaya and will make it easy for resellers selling IP Office to get started with storage.  EMC has also been a great partner with Avaya on our Collaboration efforts, and we look forward to enhancing this relationship.”
