Avenda Systems Gives Organizations Ability To Deploy Large-scale Network Access Security

New eTIPS 4.0 release extends centrally managed network access visibility, and context-aware policy management capabilities

Avenda Systems, a leading provider of identity-based network access security and intelligence, recently announced the immediate availability of eTIPS version 4.0. Avenda's latest platform release for physical and virtual machine appliances gives customers the ability to create larger, distributed network access security domains or clusters to support uniform context-aware policy enforcement, for geographically dispersed mobile enterprise deployments.

These new capabilities combine cost-effective, flexible attribute-driven policy management, AAA, and network access control (NAC) endpoint compliance that overcome the complexity, administrative burden and operational limitations of competitive approaches for distributed deployments that require a siloed high-availability model, dedicated management consoles, overcoming integration complexities.

"Avenda's user and device-based authentication platform delivers the configuration flexibility and clarity, quality of logging and monitoring, and switch vendor independence that other vendors only promise," commented Dominik Oestreicher, Managing Director, doIT solutions GmbH. "The new clustering capabilities in eTIPS 4.0 are extremely valuable as today's global enterprises require consistent user policies and control, support for personal devices, and the ability to dynamically meet location specific compliance demands."

In addition to features within the 4.0 release that automate the access security of a large, complex, and globally distributed workforce, Avenda's new release provides additional functionality that supports managing a dynamic mobile environment and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) initiatives, including:

  • Ability to assign granular administrative privileges per location, job role, access method, etc.
  • Enhanced endpoint health assessments that include checks for USB devices, and granular hot fixes/patch compliance
  • Global command and control capabilities for proactively altering an endpoint's status over wireless and wired connections from a central console
  • Flexibility to automate the registration of personal devices: iPads, laptops, tablets, smartphones

"The consumerization of IT and the demand for a scalable, geographically dispersed access security platform is now a requirement for many enterprises, large and small," said Santhosh Cheeniyil, CTO at Avenda Systems. "This latest version of eTIPS software provides scalability and control on top of the dynamic authentication and authorization, context-aware policy management, and real-time network access visibility and operational intelligence that we have been shipping for over two years."
