Guest Column: Choosing a Web Solution Is Key To Today's Businesses

By Stephen Holford, CMO of Fasthosts Internet

Business and Internet technology go hand-in-hand. Be it in-house tech support or off-site systems management, a company's Web solutions are essential for day-to-day operations. But figuring out how to best suit your needs can be difficult. There are options to choose from and it's a good idea to look at all the possibilities before deciding who and where to host your IT solutions.

The main components of a company's IT infrastructure are the Web host provider, the Web solutions and the physical server where all of the hosted components such as email, databases, and finance and HR systems will run from. The hardware can be brought in-house and monitored by internal tech support or, a business can go to a third-party Web host provider with direct access to the company's off-site server solution. The key choice is to determine if the business has invested enough to manage the service and hardware in-house, or if an external company is better positioned to do this for them.
